Michael Haith

CEO & Principal Stakeholder | Teriyaki Madness
A few lessons I've learned throughout my career are: Paying yourself first is advice from accountants, not entrepreneurs building a business. A team is everything, and the organization chart is ever changing as the business grows. And humility is a superpower!

Advice from Michael Haith

Quotes about career path, skills, and teamwork from an industry leader.
One piece of advice I've received from a past mentor is make the right decision or make the decision right.
When hiring, I look for those who understand the vision, create the strategy, and roll up their sleeves to humbly execute at the side of their team.
I find inspiration by observing other people's success.
Nothing is more satisfying than employees, franchisees and vendors enjoying working with an organization we have built.
After a triple bypass six years ago, I have learned to stop and think.
I sit in my hot tub for as much as an hour every morning (keeps me off my phone–just me and my thoughts) then walk for another hour while doing my morning emails and reading industry news. Staying calm, thoughtful and educated helps me make better decisions and is more fair to those with whom I work on a daily basis.
I regularly read all restaurant newsletters, restaurant finance, food trends, franchising and industry news from my newsfeed.
My teams stay inspired by the inherent satisfaction of seeing the results of their efforts in building Teriyaki Madness, and by the acknowledgment that success is result of a team effort (cliche but absolutely true).
