Always be curious. Ask why something is the way it is with the intention to learn, not to challenge. Understand the past to influence your future. Change once you understand what you want to change.

Advice from Kelsey Bush

Quotes about career path, skills, and teamwork from an industry leader.
I have learned to be open to all new experiences.
I am blessed to work with the most random group of individuals. They open my eyes to their interests and life experiences which help me grow as a person. When I look back on who has shaped me throughout my career, it's always my staff.
I have also learned adaptability.
I must be able to bend or we will break. Pivoting your focus when it's correct to pivot is essential to recognize and have self awareness to do so.
When hiring, I look for someone who believes in team unity.
A person who is always willing to jump in to assist a fellow team member is someone I will pour into compared to an individual who is more talented or technical. Attitude is everything, and I strive to work with similar-minded work ethics. Taking pride and having integrity in work is also something I look for.
I find inspiration by traveling.
Work hard, play hard. I make sure to take my time when I need it. Traveling to new places to experience all different types of culture helps me feel creatively stimulated when I come back to work.
Working out is my safe space.
I don't compromise on my workout schedule. I will work longer into the day or start my day earlier, but when it's time for my workout, I'm unavailable and will not be disturbed. I need the quiet time to myself to recharge and be ready to tackle the next move.
Wine and coffee education is huge for us.
Either during lineup before a dinner service where we discuss new wines by the glass or in the morning dialing a new roast of espresso, we are always teaching our staff.
