As the fifth and final season of FX's The Bear premieres on June 25th, we're looking forward to seeing which familiar faces from the hospitality world might stop by the restaurant next.

Over the past four seasons, some of the industry's most respected chefs, restaurateurs, and hospitality leaders have made memorable appearances, adding an extra layer of authenticity for those in the know.

As we gear up for one last service, here's a look back at some of the real-life hospitality pros who have appeared on The Bear.

Thomas Keller

Thomas Keller, the legendary American chef behind The French Laundry, appears in a flashback sequence during The Bear's season 3 finale, guiding Carmy through his first day at the iconic Napa Valley restaurant.

Daniel Boulud

Global restaurateur and renowned French chef Daniel Boulud appears in the season 3 premiere of The Bear, as Carmy reflects on his time working at Boulud’s acclaimed New York flagship, DANIEL.

Grant Achatz

Grant Achatz is the chef-owner of Alinea, known for his avant-garde cuisine and modernist gastronomy through multisensory dining experiences. In the last episode of season 3, Chef Luca tries to learn some of his tricks during Ever's funeral dinner.

Kevin Boehm

Kevin Boehm, co-founder of Chicago’s acclaimed Boka Restaurant Group, makes a brief cameo at the end of season 3, appearing alongside Stretch Pizza owner Wylie Dufresne as Carmy socializes during Ever's last dinner service.

Will Guidara

Will Guidara makes an appearance at Ever's chef-studded funeral dinner. In addition to serving as a co-producer to The Bear, he's also the founder of The Welcome Conference, author of Unreasonable Hospitality, and the former co-owner of Make It Nice hospitality group.

Donnie Madia

Donnie Madia, co-owner and partner of One Off Hospitality Group, makes multiple appearances in The Bear. In season 2, he offers Chef Sydney advice about opening a restaurant during her culinary tour of Chicago, with a scene set at his restaurant avec. He returns in season 4 as the team at The Bear keeps watch for visiting restaurant critics.

Sue Chan

Sue Chan makes a brief appearance in season 3 as Eliza Cameron, with her photo featured on the wall of restaurant critic portraits that The Bear staff studies while preparing for upcoming reviews. (Her photo appears again in season 4 with the name Elena Lovero.) In real life, Sue Chan is the founder of hospitality experiential agency Care of Chan.

A Chicago native, Carmy returns home to take over his late brother’s sandwich shop, The Original Beef of Chicagoland, after building a prestigious career in Michelin-starred kitchens around the world. His journey in revamping the restaurant into The Bear is marked by relentless perfectionism and a desire to create a space rooted in excellence and collaboration.
