The best advice I've received was: "help someone else along the way". As a woman of color, it’s important to me to help those just starting in their career. This industry is hard, and it's important to be able to see yourself and your career goals in someone. I hope that I can be a resource for women of color navigating this industry.

Quotes about career path, skills, and teamwork from an industry leader.
I was a career changer at 33.
While cooking had always been in the back of my mind as a kid, it took a recession to move me into my field.
I don’t look for a pristine resume in new candidates; I look for people who might have non-traditional career paths.
When interviewing, I look for someone willing to learn and a strong desire to succeed. Some of my most successful hires have been those with no background in cooking.
A great attitude and the ability to take constructive criticism is one of the most important skills to possess in any industry.
Recently there has been more acknowledgment for the accomplishments of women of color in the hospitality industry, which has been long overdue.
Their achievements inspire me to keep working harder to excel in this industry.
Inspiration for me comes from other women in this industry.
Their motivation and stories of hard work are a support system when I have a terrible day.
I couldn't live or work without my phone!
All of my recipes, schedule, pictures, articles ideas, and everything on my phone. I would be adrift without it!
